What should your initial settings be when you first install the J&S ultra V2.0? i.e. boost retard start/rate, timing, and sensitivity.
Also I plan on upping my boost (JRSC) from stock to the next level (8 or 10psi?). Is all that I need is larger injectors, the pully, and colder plugs? Will an aftermarket fuel rail help in any way?
I heard that there are two ways of upping the boost 1. Crank pully 2. The pully on the end of the SC "nose". Which one is easier to swap out or is better? This is on a '96 hatch D16Y7 engine. I already have the upgraded fuel pump (JR i think), FPR, I/H/E, and gauges.

On a standard JRSC setup the MAP limiter is not necessary because the MAP sensor is relocated to a place where it will never see boost. Turn it all the way up to make sure your ECU doesn't recieve a low signal and provide too little fuel.

Installation check:
1) Re-plumb the MAP sensor to read directly from the manifold.
2) At the ECU, cut the MAP signal wire. For now, do not connect it to anything.
3) Key on, engine not running, measure and record the voltage coming from the MAP sensor. This will be the same as the wide open throttle voltage that the ECU expects to see at 0 psi.
4) Temporarily connect the J&S MAP Limiter input to 12 volts. Make sure that the wire coming from the MAP sensor is still disconnected.
5) Measure the voltage at the J&S MAP Limiter output. Turn the adjuster until the output is the same as the previously recorded 0 psi MAP voltage.
6) Turn off the key and disconnect the 12 volt jumper to the MAP Limiter input.
7) Connect the MAP sensor end of the cut wire to the J&S MAP Limiter input.
8) Connect the ECU end of the cut MAP sensor wire to the J&S MAP Limiter output.
9) Now, no matter how high the MAP sensor voltage tries to go when you are in boost, the MAP Limiter will clamp it to the 0 psi voltage. In addition, the ECU will now see the true manifold signal during vacuum and transition, since the MAP sensor reads from the manifold, not the throttle body. Remember, the supercharger is between the throttle body and the manifold, so the MAP signal is not the same.
10) During wide open throttle runs, the air/fuel ratio can be modified by SLIGHT adjustments to the MAP Limiter. Turning it CCW will lean it out, since the MAP voltage will be clamped lower. Clockwise will richen the mixture, since the ECU will see a voltage higher than stock. The ECU will tolerate voltages corresponding to about two or three pounds of boost before setting the check engine light.

If you are looking for an example of a J&S Ultra v.2 settings, my sensitivity knob is at 10:00 o'clock, boost retard start is at 8:00 which means as soon as boost starts. The boost retard rate knob is at 10:00 o'clock which means .5 degrees of retard per pound of boost.
Now the Map Limiter knob doesn't seem to do anything no matter where I set it. I can have it at 8:00 o'clock or 4:00 o'clock and the car seems to run the same. Does anybody know what this is supposed to do other than prevent CEL's???

Hey John,
Would this procedure work in the same way in a turbocharged integra?
